WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Biodiversity is the focus of this year’s oyster roast at Airlie Gardens.
Proceeds from the annual event will help to build an outdoor classroom and improvements to the gardens’ nature trail, according to a release.
"The oyster roast makes it possible for kids to come out for hands-on learning here at Airlie," said Matt Collogan, the environmental education manager at Airlie Gardens.
It’s not all about oysters, as this year’s event will feature live music, dancing, drinks and a variety of southern food favorites.
The Airlie Oyster Roast is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. on October 18. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
