NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – New Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger’s home went on sale at the county courthouse Tuesday in a foreclosure auction.
According to a legal ad listed in Lumina News, Berger and Karyn Crichton are the owners of a house on Commons Way. Crichton is Berger’s ex-girlfriend and an employee of New Hanover County’s planning department. She has not lived at the house for several years.
Berger was nowhere in sight Tuesday as his house was sold to the highest bidder – Wells Fargo Bank. Wells Fargo bought the home for $211,917. It has ten days to complete the sale. If they do complete the sale, anyone still living at the home will have 30-60 days to move out or be evicted.
