Enchanted Airlie named in Top 20 events in the region | Community Spirit

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Southeast Tourism Society has named Airlie Gardens’ Enchanted Airlie as one of the Top 20 events in the region.

According to a press release from New Hanover County, the honor comes from a highly competitive screening and nomination process that selects the “Top 20” honorees for each month of the year. Enchanted Airlie Gardens’ holiday tradition was chosen as one of the premier activities in December.

"For seven years, Enchanted Airlie has offered a unique experience for families to take in the sights of the holiday season by the sea,” said Jim McDaniel, director of Airlie Gardens in a press release. “It’s an event that locals have been proud of for a long time, so we are excited and honored that we’ll now be showcased on such a respected and wide-reaching platform.”

According to a press release, the event set a record attendance in 2011.
