New Hanover County K-9 unit takes home top prize | Community Spirit

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The K-9 unit for the New Hanover County Sheriff's Department took the top prize at last week's USPCA PD1 K-9 trials.

The event was held last week in Waynesville, North Carolina.

Deputy Segall and K-9 Jango won first place overall with 672.44 out of a possible 700 points. The honors included first place wins in obedience, article search and agility.  The team took home second place prizes in suspect search and criminal apprehension. 

It should also be noted that this was Jango's first trial.
