NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Don't forget that holiday plants can make great gifts. Just in time for the start of the Christmas season, a plant sale to benefit the Ability Garden, located at the county Arboretum, will kick off Friday starting at 10 a.m. and go until 4 p.m.
The sale will also be held at the same time Saturday.
The garden, which does not receive state or local funding, has helped thousands of people with physical and mental disabilities learn the hobby of gardening for the past 12 years.
Volunteers rely on money raised at the plant sales like the one being held this weekend.
The Arboretum is located at 6206 Oleander Drive.
Poinsettias, houseplants and herbs, along with specialty planters will be available.
