Beachgoers sign pledge to 'Be a good egg'

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WECT) — A total of 174 beachgoers at Wrightsville Beach reportedly signed a pledge to "Be a good egg" via Audubon North Carolina over this past weekend.

The pledge is to share the beach with coastal birds, like Least Terns and Black Skimmers that nest at North  Carolina's coast, during the peak tourist season. Audubon North Carolina kicked off the Good Egg/Share the Beach initiative on Sunday, June 26 to raise awareness about the water birds that nest and raise their young at the beach.
