Fans line up to see 'The Avengers' | News

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Comic book fans are flocking to movie theaters Thursday night for the midnight premier of the Avengers.

At Regal Mayfaire Cinema, costumed characters are lining up to see the flick. The movie includes Robert Downey Jr.'s character Iron Man.

There has been a lot of buzz in Wilmington about the Avengers as movie goers in the Port City get ready for filming of Iron Man 3 to begin. Iron Man 3, which will start production later this month, will open in theaters one year from now.

Fan Boy Comics was also at the Mayfaire movie theater Thursday. The group gave away comic books and prizes to coincide with the release of the Avengers and to promote Free Comic Book Day, which takes place this Saturday, May 5.
