Sen. Richard Burr on healthcare
News

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC
(WECT) - With the United States Supreme Court's decision on the future of the
president's health care law looming
, law makers are waiting to see what their
next steps will be.

U.S. Senator Richard Burr
was in Wrightsville Beach Sunday evening receiving an award from the North
Carolina Association of Broadcasters. Burr said the cost of health care has
continued to increase since the Obama health bill went into law.

Burr said his big concern
with the health care law is what it costs.

"The American people
want to see reduced costs, they want to see more competitive options for them,
they want to see choice and you can't have competition without choice," Sen.
Burr said. "It means more private sector involvement and less government
involvement."

Burr said if the highest
court in the land strikes down the health care law, it will challenge the
president and congress come up with something more sustainable than the current
system.
