WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WECT) – There's a man in Wrightsville Beach so upset about his neighbor's roof he took his complaints to town council.
Neal Briggi is unhappy the home on the corner of West Henderson Street has a blue aluminum roof that bounces sunlight back into his own home.
Town employees said Briggi wants the town's planning board to develop a way to stop the use of reflective roofing around the island.
We knocked on Briggi's door to speak with him about his complaint, but neighbors said he doesn't live at home year round. They don't understand why the roof is raising concerns in the first place.
"I haven't noticed that roof at all even though it was different," said William Emmerich, a neighbor along W. Henderson Street. "I think this guy looks for things to get upset about."
Town officials refused to speak about the issue on camera, but said they are in the early stages of discussing Briggi's complaint.
Right now they are exploring if any other municipalities ban specific colors or types of roofs. If any decision is made it will happen in 2013.
