WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – An old skate ramp in Wrightsville Beach has a new home in Wilmington.

Jim Mincher was the owner of a skate ramp in Wrightsville Beach for more than 15 years, but after the town told him to take it down he had very few options.

Mincher said letting go of the ramp is a bittersweet move but he knows it will be in good hands.

Mincher has decided to donate it to the Brigade Boys and Girls Club of Wilmington.

A couple of volunteers got together to move the ramp which had to be broken into four parts.

The Brigade Club is excited about the new addition. They said it will be nice to add a new option to its group of activities.

Now that they have the ramp, the club is asking for donations of skateboards and helmets.
