No left turns on/off Airlie Drive | News

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WECT) – If you like to use Airlie Drive to avoid traffic when you leave the beach, you’ll have to find another route. According to the Department of Transportation, drivers will not be allowed to turn left on and off Airlie Road in an effort to ease congestion on Wrightsville Avenue. The left turn restrictions were requested by the Wilmington Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Town of Wrightsville Beach to improve traffic flow near the drawbridge until all four lanes are open to traffic again.
