Lindsay Curtin

Lindsay Curtin was born and raised a Kentucky girl -- Fort Mitchell Kentucky more specifically and no, it's not a military base. It is just a very small city about 5 minutes out of downtown Cincinnati.

She attended University of Kentucky where she earned a BA in English with a focus in broadcast journalism.

Lindsay interned with our sister station WXIX in Cincinnati as well as WLWT ( a Hearst Television Inc. Station).

She recently worked at WMBF in Myrtle Beach and quickly worked her way through positions to reach her goal as a reporter.

After two weeks as a camera operator she was offered the position as the associate producer/ main editor for the morning show.  Lindsay worked the overnight shift for this position and even though her sleep schedule was weird, she loved the low key atmosphere and high scanner activity -- structure fires all the time as well as some crazy stories.

Working this shift also taught Lindsay how to deal with intense pressure... as the morning show has a smaller staff, she would sometimes go out to shoot breaking news footage come back to the station and edit it and still have to finish editing all three shows.

Lindsay's time at WMBF was short but incredibly meaningful, but she says she is so excited to have earned the title of "Multimedia Journalist" for the leading news station in Wilmington.

"I think this city has so much character and I love that there is SO much to do! I also have a bad (but oh-so- good) obsession with cupcakes which means you can be sure to catch me at Coastal Cupcakes or Hot Pink Cake Stand downtown for a "you worked hard today" treat!

Lindsay loves to run because it takes a lot of motivation, but is very rewarding when you finished.

Lindsay has a recognizable face and hopes that if someone approaches her in Wilmington saying "I know you from somewhere" that it will be from viewers who love watching WECT.

Viewer feedback really breaks down the barriers between the audience and the television set. Comments or suggestions via twitter/facebook/email really helps us as a news team to keep our finger on the pulse of what's really going on out there what people really want to know.
