Nadine Maeser joined WECT in March 2011. Nadine is the 6 and 11 pm producer for WECT and she also gathers news for reports. She enjoys covering southeastern North Carolina. From the University of North Carolina Wilmington to the beaches, there is always a news story!
Prior to joining the WECT team, Nadine worked at WWAY News channel 3, which is the ABC affiliate in Wilmington. She was a reporter there from December 2009 to March 2011.
Nadine grew up in New Jersey and came to North Carolina to attend college. Nadine is a 2009 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in broadcast journalism and electronic communication. During her time at UNC, Nadine served as the bureau chief and on-air reporter for ABC's "News on Campus" program. UNC was one of six colleges in the nation to report for the network news. Nadine was also very active in Carolina Week. Carolina Week is UNC's student-run newscast. The newscast airs live in 16 counties twice a week. Nadine reported and produced for the Emmy-award winning student newscast. While at college, she also interned at NBC 17 in Raleigh.
Nadine participated in a variety of UNC college activities. She was the captain for the university's club basketball team and was a member of the club field hockey team. Nadine is also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Nadine is a huge Carolina basketball fan and never misses a game. Her favorite memory of UNC is witnessing, reporting and celebrating the NCAA Championship in 2009!
When she's not reporting or producing, Nadine enjoys the beach, running, talking with people, playing basketball and traveling. She also loves spending time with her family, who live in the Outer Banks, and her three dogs—Champ, Kahlua and Rocky.
Nadine loves being in North Carolina and working for WECT, which is the leading news station in Wilmington.
